Day 229

Today I organized the kids dresser drawers, UGH.  There was so much laundry because they stuff dirty clothes in their dresser.DSC09033

Day 228

I decorated the girls their birthday cake today and they were so excited.  I finally feel like I’m a good mom again, because I was so sick for the past year.  This picture seemed to capture the excitement of the day.DSC_1593-1

Day 227

We blessed Grey today, and it was wonderful.  He’s so cute and we love him so much!  Gavin held him for the first time today, and he was thrilled.  It was priceless to see.DSC_1475

Day 226

Gavin refused to go to school this morning, which was obnoxious for everyone.  I made him stay in his room because he told me he needed to stay home because he was “tired.”  Of course, he felt fine as soon as we were back from dropping off the girls, and was super mad he had to rest in his room.  Finally I let him out, and he played in the play room while I graded.  Silly Gavin!

Day 225

I got my hair colored today and cut, and it’s so nice to have short hair again.  I really like the color.DSC09020-1

Day 224

We cleaned the playroom in preparation for Cheryl and Larry to come, and it looks fantastic!  I love clean and organized things.

Day 223

Here is Grey, peacefully napping in his swing.  It was such a great investment, particularly because we didn’t have to buy it in the first place.  It was a gift from Marie.

DSC09011

Day 222

Today I cleaned off the fridge, which has had the same pictures on it for at least a year, or close to it.  Here they are all ready to go upstairs in the memory boxes.DSC09010

Day 221

Today was the day I destroyed the 72-hour kits in a desperate search for the epi-pen.  It was so scary.  It was one of those “feel like I’ve been kicked in the stomach” moments where I was so worried that I didn’t know what else to do besides frantically tear through the kits.DSC09009

Day 220

Today when we were de-junking we found this old toilet seat booster from my first pregnancy.  I got so big I couldn’t physically stand up from a sitting position, so I would pull on the towel rack to get off the toilet (too much information, I know).  John thought this was terribly  unsafe, so he bought this booster toilet seat.  It put me up so high I was practically standing anyway.  Of course I was glad to get rid of it, but it was a trip down memory lane to see it.

Day 219

I’ve been cleaning out closets, so I made a big pile of stuff to go to Goodwill.  It took up the whole hallway.

DSC09002

Day 218

I smiled when I saw the little fingerprints in this salt this morning.  Emma was so excited to get the money from her loose tooth.  I gave her 50 cents.  Wow, I’m so not frugal!DSC09001

Day 217

Emma’s tooth fell out today (her second), and she left it in a bowl on the counter.  I think it accidentally got thrown out when I was cleaning the dishes because it was this teensy little thing and I don’t think I saw it.  Good thing the tooth fairy doesn’t actually need the tooth to leave the money. DSC08999

Day 216

I was cleaning out my drawers today and found the box of pregnancy tests I bought last year when we were trying to get pregnant with Grey.  I had one leftover even!DSC08998

Day 215

I make the kids their lunches every night before I go to bed.  I LOVED lunch when I was a kid.  I looked forward to it all morning when I was at school. DSC08996

Day 214

Every time we go outside, for some reason all the shoes end up just sitting by the back door.  The kids sure are great at finding their shoes, but they have a hard time actually getting them back on the shoe rack.DSC08997

Day 213

I gave the kids these leftover scrapbook papers because I was cleaning out my supplies and am trying to clean up and get ready for the move.  They had a really fun time with all the papers.DSC08961

Day 212

The girls were off school today, so we decided to clean the playroom.  It took 4 1/2 hours, and was a huge project.  The kids even moved the couch to get the toys out.  Here they all are working together to try and push it back together.DSC_1388

Day 211

This week, we’ve been trying to do more tummy time with Grey.  He completely falls asleep, and doesn’t seem to care that he’s on his stomach at all.  The other kids would scream and scream, so this is definitely a switch.DSC08960

Day 210

Gavin went back to pre-school today.  Here he is afterwards, when we had hot cocoa and toast.  I am so glad he’s back, and he is too!

Day 209

I’ve been meaning to blog about this paper for a while now, but I either lost it or didn’t get a picture of it.  I finally did it this week.  This is a paper I was writing on when I called the on-call doctor to get information about whether or not I should come in to the hospital to get admitted to deliver Grey.  They basically told me to watch and observe, which I did, and then I ended up going in and having Grey.

Day 208

Today was the first day that Grey really gave me a bunch of good smiles and I knew they were related to me.  He also cooed a bit.  He’s so cute!!!  I took this picture just 5 minutes later, when he was mad and screaming.  Things can change pretty quickly in the mood department when you’re 2 1/2 months old.

Day 207

Today I made chocolate chip cookies.  It’s one of my favorite Sunday night activities of all time.DSC08956

Day 206

John finally got the Christmas tree taken down today.  It always looks so bare after the holiday decorations get taken down.

DSC08957

Day 205

During this week of sickness, Gavin spilled many things on his sheets and blankets.  Not only did he get ice cream sandwich on his quilt, but he spilled an entire cranberry smoothie on his sheet.  I’m still catching up on laundry.DSC08954

Day 204

Today we found out poor Gavin has pneumonia.  This nebulizer is a life-saver!!

DSC08945

Day 203

This was supposed to be Gavin’s first day back to pre-school, but the poor little guy has been sick for almost 2 weeks.  Here he is being good and keeping himself entertained in his room.DSC08946

Day 202

This was the first day back to school with John gone and the vacation over.  I didn’t get the laundry done all week, as is represented by this picture taken later this week of all the school laundry finally done.  It takes a while to get back into a routine.DSC08955

Day 201

Here is a stack of movies the kids have been watching.  They’ve all been sick, so we’ve let them relax and watch shows.DSC08944

Day 200

The day after John’s big marathon, he was pretty sore.  He spent a lot of the day resting and soaking in a bath.  He deserved to take a break!

Day 199

John ran his first marathon today, and on 1-1-11 no less.  I’m so, so proud of him!DSC08940

Day 198

The picture to represent today has to be asthma medicine.  Gavin got very sick and ended up in the E.R.  This is a hard time of year for us, and it’s particularly stressful and worrisome to have sick kids.  Poor little guy!DSC08941

Day 197

Today while I was changing Grey’s diaper he peed all over, and it even hit this Friend’s case that was sitting on top of the tv.  It caught me by surprise, but it’s also very amusing.DSC08935

Day 196

This picture of the swing is Grey’s new toy.  He loves the swing, and it’s become invaluable.  I had to take a picture of our newfound love.DSC08934

Day 195

Grey looks so content in this picture!  Babies just seem so happy most of the time.  I often wonder what he’s thinking of.DSC08933

Day 194

The picture I chose for today represents the sick kids and how they are eating at the coffee table (aka the coughing table).  Sick kids are hard!DSC08924

Day 193

The picture of today kind of makes me sad because the Christmas tree always seems so bare after the presents are opened.  It’s kind of a bummer to sit and look at it after Christmas.

DSC08925

Day 192

Every Christmas morning I think back to when we had the girls.  I can hardly believe they’re 7 and so grown up.  Here they are all excited as they came down the stairs on Christmas morning.DSC_1299

Day 191

The girls got to have their own table for their special Christmas Eve birthday dinner.  Even though this picture is blurry, it seems kind of magical with the lights on the tree and their little table.DSC_1243

Day 190

John took the girls to The Nutcracker, and I liked this picture of Emma because it just captured how excited they were to go.

DSC_0457

Day 189

I ran across this chart I was keeping during my pregnancy that tracked my weight.  I didn’t gain weight very quickly, which had me worried, so I decided to keep track of it daily.

DSC08901

Day 188

Every year it’s our tradition to make John’s Grandma Campbell’s homemade candy recipe.  It’s caramel, pecans, coconut, corn cereal and rice cereal.  It’s so good!
